An 18th century Colonial chair back settee.

Exceptionally original. The seat has the original upholstery topped with the first fabric to cover it. A single historic repair to one arm with the head of the hand made nail still just about visible, the colour of the tropical hardwood used is sublime.

A really interesting and rare piece. Elements of English, Dutch, Swedish and French furniture styles of the period combined which is unsurprising as it was constructed in the golden age of Colonial occupation to much of the East Indies by many European states.

An incredible survivor.

Circa 1730.
