A three step 1227 Angelpoise desk lamp.

This model was produced between 1935 and 1938 and can usually be identified by the three step base with it's crinkle or Japanned finish to the base which this lamp doesn’t have.

It clearly retains the factory applied finish though, really early models have unpainted steel arms this example doesn’t but does have the  perforated and narrower shade but not the large earthing bolt to the back of the base.......... which may lead us to believe that this is a change over model,..... is this a lamp that has both a three step base and the later factory finish......is this rarer or more desirable... we don’t know .. but I have not handled one the same as this before and I’ve been sourcing and restoring them since 1986.
